Morgen werden wir meinen ersten Kindercomic "Kiste" auf der Leipziger Buchmesse vorstellen.
In ein paar Tagen wird das kleine Buch dann auch im Handel erscheinen.

Tomorrow I will present my first children's comic book KISTE on the Leipzig book-fair.

Am 24.Dezember um 10:10 Uhr läuft DER GRÜFFELO und gleich im Anschluss DAS GRÜFFELOKIND im ZDF. Beide Verfilmungen der Kinderbücher von Julia Donaldson und Axel Scheffler wurden von Magic Light Pictures und Studio Soi produziert. Jakob Schuh und Max Lang haben die Regie für den Oscarnominierten ersten Teil geführt. Johannes Weiland und ich hatten die Freude, das beim zweiten Film zu machen.

In England feiert am 25.Dezember um 16:35 Uhr ein dritter Film dieser Art auf BBC One Premiere.

I am done with my first comic book. "Kiste" will be released in fantastic company (!) by Reprodukt in March 2013. Here is a little preview for you.

Når mamma blir et monster

I just received an update from Teater Spillebrikkene, from Norway. They made the theater adaption of our film and book of "The Little Boy and the Beast" and performed it already 40 times. Here is a little collage showing how respectful they worked visually. With the same love they treated the story.

Sometimes you need to look back before starting something new. My revisit of documents was more cheerful than the beasts. Soon I will start working on a new children's book with the same author and the same editor.

At the moment I spend most of my time with these two guys. Mattis and Kiste are the protagonists of my first comic book, written by Patrick Wirbeleit. There are still a few more weeks to go, till my work is fisnished and a few more month till it is published by the german editor REPRODUKT, but I couldn't wait to share a first image with you.

Today I received the news that my short TOTO HOUSE won the Jury Special Prize in the Commissioned Films Category at SICAF2012 Animation Film Festival. I am very happy about this, because the film is an unusual mix of a 5min short film with soft storyline, commercial and imagefilm for TOTO (Japanese leading producer of sanitary ware). Here is some of the production work: The film was done in 2011 with a small but great team at Studio Soi and can be seen here. TOTO HOUSE

Petit Gruffalo

After winning the Audience Award at the New York International Children's Film Festival, as well at the Audience Award at the Florida Film Festival, I am very happy, that our film, THE GRUFFALO'S CHILD, received the crystal for best TV special at the Festival International du Film d'Animation d'Annecy, this weekend.

The DVD and the Blue Ray of the film, including a making-of, as well a beautiful gallery of preproduction by the amazing Aurélien Prédal, is available on amazon. Also the music by René Aubry is available as mp3.
